1921 De Dion Bouton Paris Town Car, the car was imported to the uk 20 years ago as a stalled restoration by a long standing member of the VCC. With the car came the information that the car had been a very special car in its day, it had worked in Paris in the roaring 20’s , transporting some of the rich and flamboyant around the night life of Paris in their search for fun.
The car came to the UK with the chassis and mechanics having been restored, Ron Mellowship spent a lot of time researching the car to ensure the work retained its character.The bodywork was restored and painted Claret with black wings as was close to original. The interior was completely re-upholstered using all the original fittings and material close to the remnants that where still in the car. The front seats are upholstered in claret leather, with the rear seats and fluted panels in a contrasting material with a period design. There are lots of polished wood trims, with the rear quarters having a floral design, the doors have window sashes, with fluted trim panels with bone handles. The centre piece is a polished mahogany unit with a silver topped decanter and 2 cut glasses. The interior is stunning and puts the icing on what is a very rare car.
I have really enjoyed owning her for the last few years, she turns heads where ever she goes, but I have decided that I want to go to events further afield and need to get a more modern classic, so have decided to put her up for sale. May consider taking modern classic or classic motorcycles in Px.
