The archetypal British classic, this mid-80s Mini is ripe for recommissioning or restoration following a long period of storage.

Finished in Oporto red with contrasting brown velour upholstery, the Mini is showing just over 31,000 miles from new - which may be possible given the fact that most classic Mini automatics were used very lightly and sparingly.

There is no escaping the fact that the cosmetics let the Mini down - there is lacquer peel and isolated areas of corrosion - but in fairness, the panels appear sound in the main. The silver painted roof contrasts nicely with the red paint, although this would not have been a standard feature when new. The Mini also appears to have lost its Mayfair decals over time.

The Mini sits on 12 inch steel wheels, which appear to have been recently sprayed, and it also boasts colour coded arches and mirrors.

The interior is in much better condition than the exterior - the brown velour has minor signs of wear and the carpets appear lightly used.

Unfortunately, we have no documentation for the Mini, so the new owner will need to apply for a V5C from the DVLA.

Overall, a great starter classic for someone who fancies recommissioning a classic Mini.
