This lovely B Roadster has been well cared for and regularly maintained and serviced for many years. In good overall condition, the usable and rightly popular classic is ready to be enjoyed. From the file, we note that new carpets, a stainless exhaust, a reconditioned gearbox, a new Spigot bearing, a new distributor and a new clutch assembly were all fitted in the Noughties. From 2010 onwards, a brake overhaul was carried out, new front floor pans were fitted, the bulkhead was repaired, repainted and rust proofed and new leather seat covers were fitted when the seats were restored. New pedal bushes, indicator switch and fuse box were fitted in 2015, and a new fan belt, slave and master cylinder in 2018. A service was carried out in 2023 and the ignition coil and spark plugs were renewed in the Spring of 2024.
We understand that a specialist respray of the MG was carried out earlier this year and the paintwork is in excellent order. The body and panel work are similarly described as excellent and the chassis and underside is very good. The interior is in lovely order and instrumentation is thought to be working apart from the rev counter. The black fabric hood is also good. The correct silver painted wheels are described as excellent and we are told that there are no mechanical issues; as we mentioned above, the sports car has been well maintained and is in good running condition. Poor health prompts the difficult sale of the much loved Roadster after a relatively brief ownership.
The well organised history folder contains photographs, an original Leyland handbook, a Pitman’s book, technical information, MOT test certificates from 1990, a large number of invoices dating from the late 1980s, an older V5 document and a photocopy V5 and the current V5C registration certificate.
