Sunbeam Alpine Series 1 for sale. Manufactured in 1959. Shipped to, sold, registered in CA 1961. Originally a Palm Springs, CA car. The last 3 digits of VIN # is 007! Kinda cool! Asking $27,500 or best offer for this little beauty. This car has an upgraded 1725cc alloy cylinder head engine. The radiator has been upgraded as well as 4 synchro transmission. I have a ton of photos of all my resto work on this special little car. This has been a one-man restoration process.
Body/Chrome/Top: Body chrome, bumpers, over-riders, grill eyebrow, squirters, wipers, window channels, emblems, door handles, wiper bezels, headlight buckets, rings, outer window frame and tail light chromes have all been re-chromed. Grille, lower/upper window chrome, hood emblem, trunk hinges, and trunk button are OEM. The removable black hard top has been overhauled and has a new headliner and seals and original glass. Has about 80% original chrome. The black soft top is a good quality used. It has overhauled bows and contrails. Also has new snaps, seals, and a new decal with inst instructions.
Electrical/Interior: New starter, new dash pad cover, overhauled wiring harness, OEM gauges (all functional), new Rootes group emblem, new glove box, remanufactured wiper motor, new voltage regulator, new fuse box, new generator, and light bulbs, has an amp meter, overhauled lower dash and glove box surround, the console is recovered, new seats, foams, seat tracks have been overhauled. New side panels and new carpet, new interior and exterior door handles and window cranks, and the floor has been cleaned, prepped, treated, and refinished. New door seals, scuff triangles, trunk seals, and side panels. Has OE tool kit, hand crank handle jack, lug wrench, and OE grease gun all cleaned prepped treated, and refinished.
Suspension/Brakes: New upper/lower A-arm bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends, and sway bar bushings. New brake pads, shoes, lines, new master cylinder, rear wheel cylinders, and rubber lines. New axle seals, fluids, e-brake pull. Overhauled differential, calipers, e-brake, and steel brake lines. Updated ball joint suspension.
Mechanical: Engine compartment- New radiator, hoses, water pump, heater core/hoses. Regasket engine clearances/compression have all been checked out. Overhauled alloy head. New head gasket, valve cover gasket, and series 1 valve cover. New exhaust, clutch, pressure plate, and spin on oil filter. New disc throw-out bearings, overhauled tranny. New motor mounts, tranny mounts, new clutch master-slave cylinder line. A complete tune-up has been done. Engine compartment/jams all cleaned, prepped, treated, and refinished.
Body/Refinish: 120 hours into the body/ prep/paint process. This car has no rust! Refinished with Acrylic urethane single stage original style/type in Thistle grey color. As far as I know, this color was only available for 1959 manufactured Alpines.
