1960 Citroen 2CV

An eye-catching 1956 ripple bonnet 2CV that underwent a full restoration in 2010 and has covered very few miles since. Park it next to a Lamborghini or a Porsche and people will flock to the French one. First sold to a collector with 40 vehicles in 2010, it was then retailed on to me and recently fully recommissioned by a 2CV expert in the West Country with 35 years experience. Because the car has been little used since 2012, he went through the car and ensured everything was in perfect order. He also fitted electronic ignition and replaced the exhaust - total expenditure 599 pounds! It also passed the MoT first time (even though it doesn't technically need one).The 2CV is cheap as chips to repair and most parts are readily available. Rivet-counting 2CV buffs will tell you this isn't an original car - but fitted with a later 602cc engine instead of the original 425cc unit you can actually zoom past cyclists. They will note it has the super-rare 400 wheels and the roof-side mount indicators. LHD, the car was purchased from Moissonnier Norbert for 4000 Francs in November 1993. The extensive and well presented history pack has that bill of sale and a stack of other items, including every nut and bolt receipt from the restoration, to the colour charts for the paintwork and restoration photos.
