Sellers description
1953 Jaguar XK120
Registered 12/11/1953 - This original RHD comes with original VE60s, Jaguar Heritage Certificate, plenty of service receipts and 25 MOT?s supporting its original low mileage of just 19,000 miles. This XK120 is a useable piece of British history with a fascinating life story. This beautiful Jaguar XK120 is in its original Pastel Green. It has spent over half of its life on show in museums, hence the low miles and sensational original condition. It was delivered new in Nov 1953 to a garage and then re-sold some years later to a mechanic from the original selling garage (David Harrison) he loved the car from new and got his chance to buy it when it returned to the garage 3 years later. It then stayed within the Harrison family for over 60 years, Mr Harrison was a keen racing driver and took the car to compete on numerous race circuits and Hill Climbs in the 60?s. In 1966 he changed the engine from the standard 3.4 to a hot 3.8 XK Jaguar Engine with a lightened fly wheel, wide sump, competition clutch, balance crank and polished and ported head. This resulted in him winning the fastest time of the day at 1966 Wiscombe Park hill climb. Recommissioning was carried out in the 90s and again in February 2017, it received new brake calipers, brake pads, various bushes and many other new items. In June 2017 it completed the first four stages of the XK Owners Club Coastal Tour covering some 900 miles without a glitch. Green, 3 owners
