AUSTIN SEVEN ULSTER replica.

First registered as a ‘Ruby’ saloon in 1935 this little Austin has been rebuilt as a replica of Austin’s sports model nicknamed the ‘Ulster’. The car was constructed between 2009 and 2012 by Pigsty Racing, constructors of bespoke Austin Seven racing cars and builders of racing engines, for ‘fast road’ use. The alloy body was hand-built by marque specialist Rod Yates and is body no. 103. The paintwork is very dark blue, the interior is black. This is no concours queen – the car loves to be driven, and there are a few very minor marks to the bodywork but nothing major and no accident damage. The racing roundels are vinyl so can be removed if the new owner doesn’t like them. The car has been maintained by marque specialists ‘Oxfordshire Sevens’ and ‘Alderton Austin Services’. The ‘Ulsters’ first owner was 6ft 4in so the bodywork behind the driver’s seat has been cutaway and extra seat adjustment has been included. The odometer currently shows 7400 miles. The engine starts on the button and pulls brilliantly. The gearbox is a 4-speed unit and works perfectly. The brakes, despite being cable operated, are sharp. The electrics have been converted to 12v and subtle turn indicators are fitted.

The car is eligible for a multitude of events with the VSCC and 750 motor club.
