Sellers description
1937 Austin 7 cabriolet
For sale, this is a very rare Austin Seven Pearl Cabriolet made in 1937. Yes, a soft top. She runs very well and is surprisingly nippy.
She is in original condition with a few paint chips on the body and the leather interior needs soem revitalising. The carpet is original and does need replacing but I have been reluctant to do so due to it's originality. The provious owner used her on a regular basis but I have been unable to do so. She is kept covered in a barn in dry, clean storage. The wheels need taking back to original (flaking) and I have a spare. I have a few spare parts. The RH travilator (indicator) needs replacing and there are a couple of obligatory leaks of oil but nothing a couple of gaskets wouldn't sort out.
Some of the chrome is showing age but agoian, a shame to replace.
As I said, she drives great and prefers to be quick rather than sluggish but the wandering steering makes for an exciting ride...! There is a tear in the hood immediately to the rear wind which may repair. I did look at replacing the soft top but everyone advised me to leave it with is being original - even the repair place...! I have had the starter sorted and and got her running sweet as she was a bit chuggy when i first got her.
We live in NW England, Lancashire and the nearest town is Ormskirk. My dad in the picture was seven when she was made..!
