The stunning paint finish has been very well preserved and boasts an exceptional uniform shine. Commensurate with the ultra-low mileage, there are no scratches, dings or imperfections worthy of mention. The original three-layer soft-top is in superb condition with perfect factory optional electrical operation. The Perspex rear screen has some very light scratches. Factory stickers and protective film in the spotless door shuts further affirm this as an unmolested example. The underside and wheel arch apertures are incredibly clean thanks to garage storage and mainly fair weather usage. This wide bodied Z3 is every inch a special edition and has been preserved exactly as BMW intended.

INTERIOR
Also remaining precisely as BMW intended, this clean interior bares all the hallmarks of devoted ownership. The Sport Roadster Special Black Classic leather upholstery, (Code R7SW), remains in beautiful condition with firm bolsters. The leather trimmed steering wheel still displays bright red/blue M Sport stitching, and the matching black door cards and carpeting are impeccable. The dashboard is perfect and houses fully functioning equipment to include the original BMW Business stereo system which features an optional six-disc changer in the boot. The brushed aluminium centre console remains fitted, a unique feature standard on the Sport Roadster. The critical eye will find very little to note other than the driver’s side inner door sill trim showing some entry and exit wear. A fabulously preserved interior, ready for open top enjoyment in seconds.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Fitted with the BMW 4-cylinder M43 engine, this powerplant is to some the preferred option over the six-cylinder variants for those seeking lower running and maintenance costs yet with more than ample performance. The power output of 118bhp achieves 0-62mph in 10.4 seconds and a top speed of 122mph with the engine beautifully quiet and smooth. The spotless engine bay displays factory plates, stickers and build date label. The five-speed manual short throw gearbox is light and precise. This outstanding Z3 is as fun to drive as it is to look at!

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Fitted as standard to the Sport Edition Roadster, the cross-spoke alloys wheels in Style 78 are in remarkable order with no outer rim scratches whatsoever and immaculate BMW centre caps. Matching premium Uniroyal tyres of size 225/45 ZR17 front and 245/40 ZR17 rear have just been fitted brand new in November 2023. The original space saver spare wheel, jack, warning triangle and complete BMW toolkit are with the car, and the boot carpet even has the small felt jack locator sticker still attached! Front and rear disc brakes with anti-lock assistance (ABS) offer superb stopping power.

HISTORY FILE
Build label confirmation confirms date of build at the US BMW Spartanburg plant as July 2001 and the car was supplied new by BMW Main Dealers, Almondbury Garage Ltd in Huddersfield. This example was registered new on 19th September 2001. An original Dakar Yellow example, arguably the most desirable colour made, this beautiful Z3 Sport Roadster has covered a genuine 20,550 miles from new.

The original BMW black leather wallet houses the stamped service booklet as well as every handbook and guide issued when new. There is also a second wallet supplied when the vehicle was sold again by Halliwell Jones BMW as an Approved Used Car. The most recent service entry in November 2023 was carried out using genuine BMW parts with invoice to support. A further file contains many previous MOT certificates and further invoices.
