Before David Plastow left his senior position at Rolls-Royce following the take-over of Vickers plc, he had been responsible for a series of models, amongst which was the Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit. The Silver Spirit was unveiled in October 1980 as a replacement for the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow. The coachwork of the Silver Spirit had been designed at the in-house styling centre by Fritz Feller and gave the impression of being stretched in comparison with the bodies of the previous generation. Direct comparison, however, showed only small differences. The new models had slightly grown in length and width; height had been cut a little, although the styling was more modern than that of its predecessor. The interior was dominated by the expected combination of fine wood and sumptuous leather.
Supplied new by franchised dealer Weybridge Automobiles in September 1988 to its first owner, this Silver Spirit is finished in the delightful colour combination of Windsor Blue with Mushroom hide leather interior, carpets and over rugs, all of which are in superb condition. The impressive file for this Rolls-Royce contains correspondence from the supplying dealer including original delivery note, every MoT from 1992, numerous invoices, the original book pack and the service booklet which shows 15 stamps from the supplying Rolls-Royce dealer Weybridge Automobiles. This extremely low mileage Rolls-Royce has been owned by just two gentlemen keepers, and since purchasing the car in 1992 from the original owner, our vendor has had the car cared for by prestige specialists in Chobham with a no expense spared philosophy despite only clocking up a mere 7000 miles in his tenure. Offered to auction with a UK V5C registration document and in fabulous order, F555 NPB must be one of the most genuine, lowest mileage Silver Spirits available in today’s market with history and provenance to match.
