EXTERIOR

This flagship sporting Mini 1275 GT is one of the most desirable models in the iconic classic Mini history, and this fully restored example is sensational.  Finished in the original rare colour of Black Tulip, (Code KMA), the gleaming paintwork boasts a stunning deep shine.  The bodywork is in amazing condition and all trim, brightwork and unique triple line side stripe with MINI 1275 GT model designation looks superb.  The underside is stunning and allows clear inspection of the excellent structural integrity.  The once controversial Clubman front end cars are now iconic, none more so than the legendary 1275 GT.  A truly stunning example.

INTERIOR

The striped cropped nylon seat material in grey stripe colour scheme is in excellent condition with only light markings and slightly stretched fabric to the driver’s seat.  The black vinyl doors cards are undamaged and the headlining is intact and clean.  The fascia is complete with fully functioning switches and gauges including the functioning revolution counter only found on the 1275 GT.  The stylish Motolita steering wheel is a popular upgrade yet the original two-spoke leather rimmed item in great condition has been kept.  A modern Sony Bluetooth stereo system with rear shelf mounted speakers have been fitted as the only modern upgrade and easily removed if desired.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

The fastest factory standard Mini available at the time, this matching numbers 1275 GT is powered by the factory fitted and famous 'A' Series 1275cc with single SU HS4 carburettor producing 54bhp at 5250rpm.  The engine bay is super-clean and displays the metal VIN plate and engine tag which clearly display matching engine number to documentation and the original Passport to Service booklet.   The four-speed manual gearbox engages through hears smoothly.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES

The 12in Dunlop Denovo steel wheels with 1275 GT full wheel covers are in excellent condition and shod matching 145/70 R12 tyres.  The spare wheel with unused tyre sits in the boot area alongside the original bagged jack.  Dual-line hydraulically operated 8.4in front discs and 7in rear drums operate perfectly but require a firm foot in comparison to modern braking systems.

HISTORY FILE

This 1980 Mini 1275 GT was supplied new by Leyland Cars Main Dealer, Pride & Clarke Ltd in London, on the 17th September 1980.  The ownership history is traced back to the first registered keeper which was a firm called Joyce Fabrics of London Limited.  There is a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust issued Certified Copy of a Factory Record (Heritage Certificate) which confirm this car is a factory built Mini 1275 GT for the RHD home market.  Date of build is confirmed as the 13th August 1980 with factory fitted equipment listed and the original and current registration plate issued in London.  The extensive vehicle history file features a large folder of receipts, invoices and MOT records as well as a maintenance and servicing log.  The original Leyland Cars document wallet holds all handbooks, guides and dealership point of sale literature including the passport to service booklet with typed entries to confirm the original owner details, vehicle model and colour, engine and chassis numbers and date of delivery.  An original 1980 Mini range sales brochure completes the impressive history file.

A fantastic example of this sporting classic Mini.
