The Ford Escort Mk II RS2000, was produced from 1975 to 1980, and is a legendary rally car that has become an icon in motorsport history. Renowned for its performance and handling, the RS2000 was powered by a 2.0 litre engine, generating around 115bhp and allowing for impressive acceleration and agility on both roads and rally stages. Its distinctive styling makes it a standout model in the Escort lineup and a firm favourite for Ford collectors. Weighing in at just over 900kg, the Mk II RS2000 benefited from a lightweight construction, paired with a sport-tuned suspension that enhanced its cornering ability. The car enjoyed considerable success in motorsport, contributing to Ford's dominance in rallying during the late 70s.

This example is a stalled project; the bodywork has largely been done with new panels aligned and fitted. It will require a full respray. According to the V5c registration document, the original colour for this example was Black. The correct specification engine is under the bonnet; however, it will require going through and recommissioning. The gearbox and axle are also fitted, but may require attention. Although there are some ‘Custom’ parts, this example appears to be a base model.

This is a very interesting proposition, if you are handy on the spanners it could be a cheaper way into RS2000 ownership.
