Originally supplied overseas it was first registered in the UK in 1983, with the VIN Code confirming a 1976 build.
It’s showing 63,724 miles and the condition, particularly the interior, certainly supports this - please look at the photos, there are no rips or tears that we have found, even the dash is free of cracks.
Recently taken out of dry storage it would appear to have had a lot of money spent on it before going into storage. The vendor reports that an initial assessment suggests it has had a rebuilt engine, 3 branch manifold, part stainless steel exhaust, new carbs, brake/clutch master cylinder, servo, Kenlow fan, electronic ignition, and new tyres.
They put a new battery on, gave it some fresh fuel and it ran really well - getting better the more it was driven. The brakes started spongy and sharpened up as they were used, all the instruments work and even the ‘door open’ dash light goes on and off correctly. The engine runs particularly well and it holds the correct oil pressure & temperature. It appears to be solid underneath with evidence of previous welding works, boot floor is good, panels all look solid and panel fit is also pretty good. The bulkhead, inner wings and engine bay are in excellent condition with no signs of rot whatsoever.
The vendor reports the following faults that have been identified:
1. The paint is poor and while perfectly useable would definitely benefit from remedial work - the body underneath seems in good shape though.
2. Overdrive is fitted but not kicking in, we suspect minor soldering works ,would remedy.
3. One hose connector is hanging on, just, and will need attention.
4. Headling is missing.
It is being sold as a project - ready for light recommissioning/servicing and we think this is a super low mileage useable example with room to cosmetically improve.
