First registered on 8th December 1976, this really excellent MGB has been in the ownership of only three families from new (the last owner but one having had the car for 32 years), and we believe the mileage of 48,000 to be correct, as we understand that at some stage, the car was off the road for 15 years. The condition of the car is good, and it would appear to be all original panel work. The sills, castle sections, wing seams and underside of the car are all good, the paintwork good, with a few blemishes. The interior is extremely good – very clean and tidy, with good seats and headlining and recent carpets. There is a good sunroof which fits totally flush, fitted we think, by the original MG agent. This is one of the nicest MGBs we have ever driven, probably because it is so original and drives as it should. As far as we know, this car is pretty much as it left the showroom specification-wise, apart from the newish alloy wheels. Good tyres, new rear exhaust box, good battery, recent new fuel tank and centre unit. The car drives very well indeed, with very smooth overdrive and nice gearbox - in fact we can’t find anything wrong with the car. Serviced last July, MOT to April 2023, and comes with a letter from 1983 confirming early ownership details, V5C, old MOT certificates and original Austin Morris ‘Passport to Service’, the car having first been supplied by Armstrong Massey of Market Weighton, East Yorkshire.
