The Jensen FF (Ferguson Formula) was a groundbreaking British grand tourer produced by Jensen Motors from 1966 to 1971. Based on the Jensen Interceptor, the FF was the world’s first production car with full-time all-wheel drive (AWD) and an anti-lock braking system (ABS), both advanced technologies for the time. Developed in collaboration with Harry Ferguson Research, the AWD system gave the FF superior handling and traction, making it a pioneer in automotive engineering. Powered by a 6.3L Chrysler V8, the FF delivered strong performance, but its high price, complex drivetrain, and the fact that it was only available in right-hand drive limited its market appeal. Despite its innovation, only 320 units were built before production ceased in 1971. Today, the Jensen FF is highly regarded as a visionary car that introduced AWD to the high-performance segment long before it became standard in modern sports cars.

We are pleased to offer this 1969 Jensen FF in cream /white with cream interior. First registered in August 1969, the HPI records only 3 previous keepers. When supplied the car was blue (and according to the HPI it still is) but at some stage it appears to have been painted cream or white. Clearly, what we have today is a project car ready for restoration and it’s rather unclear when it was last on the road. It looks like the restoration began and there has been some dismantling and attempt to prep the paint but it has run aground for some reason. The vendor believes that the car is complete but with any project we would always encourage you to come and see it so that you can make your own assessment of condition and completeness. For obvious reasons we haven’t tried to start the engine but the car does roll freely. The interior does look to be all there and the dash in particular seems to have survived remarkably well. It even has the original 8 track stereo and a small collection of cassettes. The vendor believes this to be a matching numbers car.

The car comes with V5C, on old MOT certificate and a couple of old tax discs from the early Eighties.

As the ultimate iteration of the Interceptor and the most advanced car of its time, mint examples of the FF regularly command six figure prices. We can’t pretend that this will be an easy or a cheap restoration but it does offer a superb opportunity to create your perfect Jensen and something that could be the pride of your collection. Just imagine the ride down to Saint Tropez…
