  • Amazing in every way
  • Drives and present very well
  • A very rare find in this condition
  • Fantastic authentic specification

Here we find ourselves with the perfect opportunity to get yourself possibly one of the best Escort Mexico replicas you will ever find. The attention to detail is amazing and the chap who built it should be applauded for what he has created. We are never going to say its correct in every way because he has added a personal twist to it, but it is all the better for it. It is finished in orange with the black Mexico stripes and badges, with a black interior and is sitting on a set of RS 4 bar alloys. It is a real eyeful and looks fantastic. The attention to detail even goes as far as the Escort having an H.J. Quick rear window sticker, who were a major Ford dealer in the Manchester area back in the day.

The vendor has supplied us with the following list of some of the things he has done to get it to this standard; Radiator, Webber carbs, silicone hoses, Harris performance Manifold, fuel tank, fuel cap, 6 dial dashboard, centre console, Cibie spot lights, engine mounts, fuel rail, fuel pipes, wipers, wiper linkage, coil covers, Bestek distributor, rear light covers, engine rocker cover, water pump and thermostat, wheels and tyres, and a collection of other parts that can visibly be seen. The vendor is of the opinion that this little lot cost somewhere in the region of £11,000. He is probably right, it may be more to get to this condition, and maybe he doesn’t want to really add it up as it may upset him!

The Escort comes with a collection of paperwork, a clear HPi and a V5, stating that the Escort is a 1100 2-door in brown. It clearly isn’t that now, but on paper it is. We dread to think what it would cost in parts and time to create this, but it would be a whole lot more than it will probably sell for when you consider buying an Escort and then all the parts and paintwork, the list would go on and on. And something else to think about, if you were to go out and buy a Mexico in this condition you could be facing an invoice for around £50,000, maybe more in some cases. This may be half of that and you could have a whole load of fun and be admired by many without the worry that expensive cars create. Wherever this Escort goes, it will be talked about and admired. But don’t take our word for it, see what you think.
