We are indebted to the vendor for supplying us with the following information:

“First registered on 1/7/1958. Current MOT until May 2025 (Tax and MOT exempt) This vehicle has been in daily use during the summer months.

Originally the car was Grey and has been Blue and White too. The vehicle has the BMC “B” series engine which is a smaller version (1489 cc) of the MGB 1800 engine. The Wolseley 1500 and Riley 1.5 were originally destined to replace the Morris Minor. However sales of the Moggie were so strong that these models were launched alongside the existing models. These cars are quite capable of being used on today’s roads and can comfortably travel at 50-60 mph.

Has attended 2 shows in Nottinghamshire, both approximately 50 miles away (100 miles round trip x2) attended a rally in Leicestershire, about 150 miles return. Attended the Lions carnival at Bridlington, 120+ miles. Always been reliable, drive anywhere. Never overheated and maintained a good oil pressure on long runs, 50+ lbs/square inch. This is a good every day runner and improves as you go along.

Recent maintenance:

30/5/24 - Front shock absorbers topped up. Air filter remounted and secured carb.
2/6/24 - Trunnions greased. Gear oil checked. Water drained. Radiator flushed and fresh antifreeze added
17/6/24 - Engine oil (Motoquip 20/50) and filter changed. Points and rotor arm cleaned.
5/7/24 - Differential oil level topped up (80/90 hypoid).
17/7/24 - New s/h rear light lens fitted OSR and new dual element bulb. The old lens was very faded. This is in the boot as a spare.”

Overall this is a highly useable 50s Classic that is more than capable of keeping up with modern traffic. It’s the perfect car to use and improve whilst you go, a very interesting prospect, especially as it is offered without a reserve.
