Originally registered as XFJ4 when new in 1955, this very usable classic MG sporting saloon benefits from a number of sensible upgrades to make the driving experience much more pleasurable than a standard ZA.
Understood to develop in excess of 100 bhp, the car boasts a fully rebuilt 1600cc MGA engine running on MGB twin inch and half carbs with K&N filters, rebuilt distributor and leads, sports coil, uprated radiator and water pump, recent replacement clutch, brake servo, and a bespoke CSK race exhaust which sounds great.
We also understand the car has had a new clutch fitted recently
The bodywork appears solid and it presents very well overall notwithstanding a small number of minor imperfections. The exterior is enhanced by a period badge bar and front spot lights.
The interior has plenty of patina – both the wood and leather are aged and in keeping with the age of the car. The headliner is in good condition.
Overall a super usable classic with several desirable performance upgrades.
