1952 MG YB, Registration No. FDO348, MG Car No. YB0803 black 4 door sliding roof saloon in very good condition.  Restored in 2000.  1,250cc XPAG OHV engine as fitted to MG TD’s, and 4 speed gearbox.  A large history file with service records back to 1955, V5 and original buff logbook.  Owner’s handbook, operation manual, workshop and parts manuals, and other MG YB information manuals.  Comes with starting handle and wheel brace.  Fitted with Jackall hydraulic jacking system, but not currently operating.  Lucas spotlights at the front and reversing light at the rear.  Working car heater with variable speed fan.  5 good tyres, lots of tread.  Starts, runs and stops ok, good oil pressure.  Good headlining.

I bought the car a year ago after it was in the ownership of a collector since 2003 but has only done 6,000 miles in the last 20 years and had been kept in dry storage and unused since 2011.  The car needed work to make it roadworthy.  £1,000 spent putting it back on the road.  Spares are readily available through Mgbits and the Octagon car club.  Current mileage shown 12,444, but speedo replaced in 2003 and factory replacement engine fitted in the 1950's.

New works in the last year include stainless steel exhaust, plywood car and boot floors (the old ones weren’t rotten but were taken up when replacing the exhaust), sealed beam headlight units, voltage regulator, windscreen weather seal, thermostat housing and hoses, coil, battery, front and rear indicators and hazard warning switches and wiring, ignition warning light, rebuilt dynamo and new brushes, carburettor heat shield, carburettor float, choke cable, boot lid and spare wheel cover seals, pedal rubbers, bonnet corner rubbers, replaced headlining above the windscreen and to the sliding roof panel, new carpet fitted.  Brake cylinders stripped and cleaned, new cylinders fitted on the rear, brakes bled and adjusted, linings all good.  New oil filter, oil change, tappets adjusted, new fan belt, spark plugs and points, lubrication points greased, core plug replaced.  Petrol tank, pipes and pump drained and flushed through.   Rear window blind, but not currently fitted.
