Built on 14th November 1950, this particular TD was originally exported to Australia and returned to the UK around 2001, restored and repainted in the lovely Old English White. The car has been in the same ownership since 2002 and is very reluctantly offered for sale. Generally, the car is in excellent condition and is certainly the best driving TD we have had for a very long time. The structure is excellent – probably due to the long time spent in Australia – the paintwork is mainly good, with just a few areas to tidy up, but mainly in out-of-sight areas. The chassis and running gear have been well maintained, and all is very clean and tidy underneath. We have a very detailed record of maintenance and improvements carried out to the car up to 2019, after which, the car has not been used much. The engine is very strong and provides excellent performance – good oil pressure, no overheating etc. The gearbox is fine as is the back axle and the brakes are good. Good quality tyres on refurbished wheels. The chrome work is generally good. Inside the car, new leather seats have been installed and we have a set of matching door cards that have never been fitted. The hood and side screens, as you can see, fit well and are of good quality canvas. A small amount of work would improve this car no end, and put it into the £20,000 plus bracket. We would probably suggest removal of the additional gauges and extra rear lights that have been fitted, and obviously, the fitting of the new door cards. This would result in a very, very nice MG TD and one that goes better than most. Good history file, V5C.
