1948 MG TC North Yorkshire, United Kingdom

Trade : £28,500

Sellers description

An excellent example of this iconic sportscar, this vehicle was first registered in 1952, and we understand from the file which includes information from previous owners, that the car was used for motor sport during the first four years of its life, hence the 1952 registration date.  It has had only four owners from new, the most recent having owned the car for 12 years.  It was first restored in 1979 by Naylor Brothers, the renowned T Type experts and has since been maintained by MG experts – again, mainly Naylor Brothers. The car spent a number of years in two musuems, one of which was Gaydon and it has therefore remained in excellent condition to this day.  After its time in the museums, it was put back on the road in 2003 and in 2008, the engine, clutch and gearbox were rebuilt.  In 2011 it had a brand new, bespoke canvas hood and matching sidescreens.  We understand that at some stage, the car was re-upholstered by Collingburns, in leather, as per the original.  The panel fit, including doors is first class, the paintwork is generally good, and the underside is very clean and very sound, as are the wheels which are shod in matching Blockley tryes that suit the car very well indeed.  The whole car has a really ‘crisp’ look about it with a lovely patina.  This is a car that is meant to be used and you will be pleased to know that it starts, runs and drives very well, with its original engine and gearbox – so a matching numbers car, all set to go.  Comes with excellent history file, old MOTs, log books, instruction manual and even a two page history of the car compiled by an earlier owner.  V5C.
