1938 Morris 10/4 Series 3.  A sliding head 4 door saloon in two tone maroon and black with chrome grille, rear extending luggage rack, spare wheel cover and Jackall 4 point hydraulic car jacking system.  The car is presented as a WWII air raid warden’s car with blackout headlight covers, chrome bumpers painted white, white edging to wheel arches and running boards and ARP decals on the front wings.  Flashing indicators, hazard light switch and twin spotlights added.  Trafficators work and original headlight glasses present. 

The body, floor pan and chassis in very good condition having been done up and resprayed probably some 20 years ago.  Interior, seats and door cards in very good condition.  Recent works include new 12V battery, number plates, rear lights, kingpins, brake shoes, refurbished brake cylinders and master cylinder, new plywood boot floor and new wool carpets.  5 good tyres.  A replacement engine fitted at some stage in its life, recorded car mileage 56,273 based on records available. 

Complete rebuild of the cylinder head, skimmed head, new valves, guides and springs, new timing chain, thermostat, gaskets, etc in 2022 plus oil change to engine, gearbox and rear axle.  Over £2,000 spent in the last 9 months.  The 1,290cc OHV Morris engine is shared with the pre-war MG TA and Wolseley 10 and spares are readily available.  Only about 22 surviving 10/4 Series 3’s known to the Morris Register.  It starts first time, runs and stops and has good oil pressure.  

The car had been garaged and largely unused for very many years, taken out to WWII re-enactment events in the last 10 years by the previous owner.  Driven only 5,555 miles in the last 21 years.  V5 present.  Some history going back to 1998, old buff log book, MOT certificates, workshop manuals and owners’ handbook.  The Jackall system needs work to get it working again.
