Sellers description

1934 Humber 12hp

A characterful Humber 12HP also known as the Humber Twelve Saloon. Manufactured in late 1934 and shipped to first owner in 1935 via a dealer in Edinburgh (confirmed with heritage certificate). Since then no history until a 2019 registration with the DVLA and my purchase in January 2020. She starts, runs and stops as expected for a car of this era. Gearbox is tight and gear selections and progress with correct gear is nice and progressive without any slipping on acceleration. Braking is true and in a straight line and the steering is precise and quite light due to the tyre widths. Turning circle can be quite large for getting into a garage, but with the car being quite small in size the visibility is good for precise parking.

The car has been in my care since Jan 2021 and has been dry stored in a garage when not being used. I have commissioned several jobs since my purchase, the most notable being the chrome work on front & back bumpers and the grill and mascot to transform the cars personality. A previous owner fitted an electric fuel pump to assist fuel delivery but for starting I find the manual primer in the engine bay works as it was meant to and it's quite nice to manually prime her to start first time.

The interior is in good order, previous owner fitted new carpets which look to be standard house carpets which may benefit from a switch of some nice over rugs if intended to use the car for the very obvious wedding car use due to the colour. Based in Reading Berkshire, I would recommend a trailer to collect due to age. I would also highly recommend viewing in the workshop. A reasonable level of notice required for a test drive or ride due to now being stored in the rear of my storage. I could detail every bump, every issue but that's the perfectionist in me and why I need to allow someone else the pleasure of owning her. I have no history, I do have the Rootes Archive Centre Trust Heritage certificate for her though. Successfully used as a photo car for weddings, whilst using another one of my cars for the actual transport, depending on the distance.

Mileage totally unverfied due to lack of history.
