GENERAL INFORMATION

Hampson Auctions was founded by Mark Hamilton and Jeffrey Hamilton in 1987 as a specialist auction house, which was also said to be ‘The largest classic and investment car showroom in Europe’ housing over 150 cars. Hampsons was established at Road Four, Winsford Industrial Estate in Winsford Cheshire. The collection of vehicles included; Jaguar E Types, Bentleys, Ferraris, Aston Martins, AC Cobras and many more. Which was just part of Jeffreys inventory of rare motor vehicles.

From a young age, Mark idolised his Uncle Jeffrey’s collection of motor vehicles. Mark grew a strong passion for E Type Jaguars, and upon passing his driving test, Jeffrey passed Mark the keys to his Red V12 E Type Jaguar 2+2, and this was the first car he drove.

Hampsons sold and acquired many beautiful vehicles from the Winsford site, and Jeffrey and Mark had great success for the next 6 years. Within this timescale Jeffrey retired in 1989 but was still floating back and too from the family run business to lend a helping hand.

In 1993 Jeffrey Hamilton sold most of the cars keeping some key vehicles for collection purposes which he has to this day.

The company have now come back stronger than ever with Mark’s son Zach Hamilton bringing back the well-known family business name.
